Simran is the Research Director and Circular Economy Lead for the Resource Stewardship group at the Institute of Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney and has a PhD in Management (Circular Economy).

Simran has delivered multiple high-profile projects on circular economy policy, metrics, business models, product stewardship, decarbonisation and intersections between circular economy, climate change and biodiversity. Since 2020, her contributions have resulted in over $4.7 million worth of new proposals and $3.6 million successful external research income, resulting in quality research outputs, government and industry engagement and impact, across sectors such as plastics, chemicals, packaging, and mining.

Simran is co-leading a project that aims to create a roadmap for a zero plastic waste City of Gold Coast.
