Rasul is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, founder of clean energy research and leader of fuel and energy research group at Central Queensland University (CQUniversity).

Rasul has more than 20 years’ experience in research in clean and waste-to-energy (pyrolysis) research. He is ranked among the top 2% researchers and in his sub-category, Energy, he is ranked 815 out of more than 313,000 in the world. He has made significant contributions in research with over 550 publications, more than 22,000 citations, H-index of 74, over $7M research grants and 40 higher degree research students’ supervision.

Rasul leads a project with APR Plastics, aiming to optimise the pyrolysis operating conditions and process control systems to improve product oil quality.
