University of Queensland
Professor Steven Pratt
Steven is a Professor in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland.
Steven is known internationally for his work on the development of polyhdroxyalkanoate (PHA) bioplastics and their wood-fibre composites. He has made contributions right across the value chain, from bioplastic production, to polymer processing, to formulations for semi-rigid packaging, tree guards, films, and controlled release applications, through their biodegradation in natural and engineered environments. He leads the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Bioplastics and Biocomposites.
Steven leads a project with Minderoo Foundation and RMIT University, looking at PHA production from renewable resources.
