Damien is the inaugural Chair of Circular Economy at The University of Melbourne, based in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, with a focus on partnering for impact in circular economy research and education.

He began his career in the plastics industry and after completing his PhD at The University of Sydney, joined the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures where he worked for 20 years with governments and industry on strategies and policies for the circular economy and sustainability, most recently as Distinguished Professor.

Damien was a foundation director for the Product Stewardship Centre of Excellence and served on the Ministerial Advisory Committee for the NSW Container Deposit System.

Damien oversees all projects in RP3.
